Project Description
2025 | Israel Museum, Jerusalem
Tel Amarna is the site of Akhetaten, the capital built at the direction of the Pharaoh Akhenaten in the late Eighteenth Dynasty. Founded around 1346 BCE, the city was abandoned shortly after his death. A rock fragment from the site, kept at the Israel Museum in Jerusalem, was imaged with both photogrammetry and Reflectance Transformation Imaging (RTI) to bring out surface details that ordinary photography cannot show.
Team. Imaging by the Jerusalem Institute for Research and Digital Documentation of Cultural Heritage, Jerusalem Multidisciplinary College, for the Israel Museum, Jerusalem.
