RTI imaging by Prof. Moshe Caine and Dr. Doron Altaratz of the Jerusalem Institute aided a proposed reading of an ancient Hebrew stone inscription discovered in Jerusalem and dated to the eighth century BCE, the period of King Hezekiah. Reflectance Transformation Imaging lets the viewer relight the stone surface from any angle, making faint and worn letters legible.
